Happy new year! Some of you have sent the application forms or
shown interest in the International Conference on Ecological
Engineering (ICEE) which will be held in October 7-11, 1996.

Since the first announcement of ICEE was distributed, we have
received many proposals and suggestions from scientists over
the world. We are going to make appropriate adjustment with the
conference on the basis of analyzing these information. One of the
most notable changes is a new Session "Aquaculture and organic
waste utilization", which was proposed by Professor Bana B.
Jana, India. There will be E-mail session on ecological
engineering before the formal conference, which is suggested by
Mr. Eng-Leong Foo, the United Nation University, and he will be
the chairman of this session. We welcome participants in the
discussions.

We have received applications and questions from scientists from
32 countries. Presently the second announcement is on
preparation. The conference site is on arrangement and some
entertainment activities in the evenings are on consideration.
Those who wish to organize round table discussions in the
evenings and to chair the sessions in the daytime, please mail to
us the title of the discussions and sessions. Thank you. The
second announcement will be mailed to you in February. Some
scientists who wish to participate in ICEE but have not sent the
application forms should mail your application form by air mail as
soon as possible. Thank you for your cooperation.

Yours sincerely,

Chengqing Yin
