The IFLA Standing Committees of Genealogy and Local History Section
joint with the Asia and Oceania Section, invite proposals for papers to
be presented on 23rd of August 2018 at the Satellite Meeting in Penang,
Malaysia.
The theme: “Local histories and Genealogies in Multicultural Asia”
We welcome papers that discuss:
Saving and promoting historical and cultural memories
Supporting contacts and understanding between different local and
regional communities
The role of libraries, museums and archives in participatory projects
based on multi-ethnic and multi-generational collaboration
Presenters are invited to discuss both successes and failures in their
papers.
We encourage evidence based practice and invite presentations and
analysis of projects which can be of practical value to others.
Submission in other formats than academic papers, such as reports and
essays are welcome.
Deadline for submitting proposals: 28 February, 2018
Proposals must include an abstract (up to 250 words).
