KIS is in the process of becoming a full IB world school, the first
school in India to implement the IB program in 1976, going on the 4th
year of MYP, and is now a PYP candidate school. It is now time to take
the step to hire a full time PYP/MYP school library media specialist
working from our K-8 library.
We are looking for you who have a Masters or a Bachelor’s degree in
Library and Information Science or equivalent and possess a high
degree of fluency and accuracy in written and spoken English.
You are enthusiastic about interacting with students in grade K-8 with
different nationalities, and have a great sense of service towards the
students and the teachers.
You have a strong interest and confidence in teaching and learning –
both for students, teachers and yourself.
You have a strong interest in supporting the inquiry based learning of
the PYP program and you are able to keep yourself up to date with
school library work in the 21th century.
We believe that you enjoy teamwork and working closely with library
colleges and teaching staff equally, but that you also are initiative,
independent, self directed and open for creative solutions.
You have a strong interest for the way technology is changing the way
we communicate in the 21st century, and enjoy elaborating and learning
the use of technology in teaching, learning and communicating. You are
highly skilled with computers.
It is desirable that you have work experience from a school library,
are familiar with the PYP and MYP programs and resources, and that you
have experience in teaching Library and information skills, as well as
cataloguing and classifying library resources in DDC.
