Dear Friends

As you know, I has taken the task of being the chairman of the IOBB
(Intl Org. for Biotechnology and Bioengineering) this year. In the first
3 months since the secretariat was moved from Brisbane to Stockholm,
IOBB has made important achievements , e.g.
(1) creation of a website (http://www.biotech.kth.se/iobb) that is
hosted by the Department of Biotechnology
(2) created a directory of 676 IOBB News readers/members
(3) conducted 2 e-seminars and has a number of proposed activities for
2004.

One important but incomplete task is to fill several vacancies as IOBB
national representatives. We currently have now elected respresentatives
(1 per country with exceptions) from these countries :
Africa: Nigeria, Uganda, Sénégal, Zimbabwe
Asia North : Russia
Asia South : India, Thailand, Pakistan
Europe: Slovenia, Romania, UK
Middle East : Iran, Israel
North America: USA
Oceania: Australia
South America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru

I invite you to volunteer to fill vacancies and serve as your nation's
representive.

There are two primary duties of national representatives - to serve :
(a) as the point of contact in/for your country for IOBB activities
(b) as the national treasurer.

Please contact me if you wish to norminate yourself as a candidate. Send
me a brief CV or url to your web profile if you have one.

Best regards
Jacky Foo
Pls forward this message to a friend who maybe interested.
