For anyone in this working group whom would like to do some
interoperation testing with multipart/related I would like to
announce that Emissary 2.0, which supports multipart/related, is
now in public beta.
This beta is available at the web site: www.twg.com
The multipart/related content type is used to support HTML documents
in mail. The first bodypart in the related multipart is of type
"text/html" WITH "cid:"s to reference other parts of the multipart.
To generate this mime format follow these steps:
1> Enter the mail client in Emissary (click on the mail icon in the left
tree)
2> Press the Compose button or type Alt+C.
3> fill in the To and Subject fields
4> Press the "Advanced" button next to the "To" field.
5> In the "Mail Addressing" dialog change the mail format from the default
"MIME" to "Hypertext(HTML)", and press save.
6> Fill out the message with text and Gifs, and word documents, etc.
This can be done by drag and drop or via the "Insert" menu item select
object. The mail compose window is A FULL FEATURE HTML EDITOR. A
floating
toolbar allows you to set font, color, bold, italic, etc...
7) Then press the send button or type Alt+S.
Note:
Emissary will ask you to configure you SMTP server before the message is
sent.
If anyone has any problems getting the above to work, or has any other
questions about the Emissary 2.0 beta please fell free to ask me.
Best Regards,
