Hi, One useful source of information for you is the excellent Sternin, V G,
Nikonorov, I V and Bumeister, Yu K. Electrical Fishing: Theory and Practice.
Originally published in Russian in 1972, there is an English Translation
published by Keter Publishing House, Jerusalem in 1976 under the Israel
Program for Scientific Translations. It has material on electrical fishing
in sea water, including commercial applications. As you are based in
Scotland, one option would be for you to access the copy in Fisheries
Research Services Freshwater Laboratory's library at Pitlochry. Best
wishes, Ross Gardiner

Dear Members,
I am looking for information on using electricity as a commercial fishing
method in marine systems (not as a stock assessment method in freshwaters).
I have picked up bits and pieces of information, but nothing too concrete.
My specific interest is with respect to shellfish, but information has been
so sparse that anything would be appreciated.
As well as practicalities of the method, if anyone has any insight with
respect to the legality of it in European waters I'd appreciate it.
Regards,
Sue Marrs
