SCIENTIFIC DIVER VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Research Project: PhD dissertation research on leopard grouper  
spawning and recruitment in Loreto Marine Park, Baja California Sur

Dates: April-August 2006

Duties would include: SCUBA surveys of reef organisms and spawning,  
recruit collection and subtidal experiment monitoring.

Living situation will be somewhat communal apartment living in town  
the majority of the time. There will be weeklong camping trips on a  
remote island around the full and new moon phases April thru May.  
Divers must be current AAUS certified and be able to provide a letter  
of reciprocity to DSO Henry Fastenau at UC DAVIS/Bodega Marine Lab.  
Will consider non-diver assistants June-August for recruitment  
sampling, but divers will be given priority.

Food and housing provided. Divers that are available for the entire  
time will have transportation provided. Other durations are  
negotiable but people that can stay the entire time or half will be  
given priority.
